As President of Pay Plus Benefits, John Heaton plays the role of chief
cheerleader,
supporting and encouraging his employees to come up with new and innovative ideas to help our company continually excel. His company is one where freedom, responsibility, fun, and financial reward are a part of everyday business life. His ability to inspire workers and encourage growth has earned him recognition as one of the nation’s top 15 “Best Bosses” by Fortune Small Business Magazine in 2004. John started Pay Plus Benefits in 1990. His entrepreneurial spirit and extensive knowledge in payroll, HR and benefits administration has allowed him to grow the company from the ground up into one of the most innovative, high-tech PEOs in the industry. John serves on various economic and trade organizations at the state and community level, and is a previous chair member and an active current member of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). In fact, he has even been featured in their magazine, discussing what he believes is the best investment he has made for his company. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pay Plus Software and is an active member of Vistage group 196 in Seattle, WA. When he’s not dreaming up big ideas for his company, John likes to spend time outdoors skiing, sailing, hiking, swimming, and scuba diving with his family. He is also a big fan of history. Fittingly, his favorite quote is, “It’s amazing how much you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.” - Harry Truman.
